The next award recipient was actress Han Ji-min for “Rooftop Prince,” and whilst on stage she also commented on So’s awkward award speech.

Actor So Ji-sub’s short and concise speech after receiving his Best Actor Award – Drama Special on the SBS Acting Award on 2012.
So Ji-sub, on the award ceremony of the SBS Acting Award 2012, was the recipient of the Best Actor Award – Drama Special.
After his name was called out, he went on the stage to receive his award, only to leave behind two word of “Thank you”, after which the actor promptly exited the stage with the trophy on his hand.
The comment’s sheer shortness and conciseness surprised everyone in the ceremony. Even the MCs, who took a moment to recover after proceeding to the next award. The Internet was abuzz with speculation, with many people offering their opinions on the actor’s short comment.
The staff members of the ceremony, however, reveals that the actor’s short comment was his way of respecting the others in the ceremony. With the award ceremony being a live broadcast, his comment was apparently his way of saving enough time for the following recipients and the staff members.
So Ji-sub’s award was based on the actor’s stellar performance as the leading man of the SBS drama ‘Ghost’, winning both critical and popular acclaim and leading the drama to its glory.
